New striker Terry Dodd makes his Rocks debut in their Nyewood Lane friendly against Crawley this evening (7.45pm, Tuesday).

And fans will get a chance to see one or two other familiar faces turning out for Jamie Howell and Darin Killpartrick’s team against the Football League new boys.

Ex-Worthing keeper Tony di Bernardo is likely to play some of the game with Craig Stoner suffering the effects of illness, while defender Chris Breach and winger Louie Castles are also set to feature.

There could also be a surprise pre-season appearance from midfielder James Fraser, who does not now need shoulder surgery.

There’ll be no Luke Nightingale as the striker is checked for a knee problem, while utility man Lewis Ide, who the Rocks are hopeful will be involved with them this season, is a month away from being able to play contact football.

Howell said: “It’ll be good to see how we’re shaping up tonight. We’re hopeful Crawley will send a strong side and that will make it a very tough test. I hope plenty of fans turn out to see how we’re looking.”

Admission at the lane tonight is £6 for adults, £2 for children.
