YET another weekend of bad weather has brought disruption to the Sussex sporting calendar.
A number of football matches are off, including Chichester City’s home clash with Rye. City have not played a home game for six weeks.
Perhaps surprisingly, the pitch at Nyewood Lane was declared fit for play in a Saturday morning pitch insepction. Thamesmead are the visitors for the Ryman premier-division game.
Sussex League matches at East Preston, Lancing, Littlehampton and Worthing United were among those called off. Sidlesham’s planned home game with Southwick was another casualty.
Meanwhile organisers of the Chichester Priory 10k - which has a 10.30am start on Sunday - were hoping there’d be no more rain before their event.
Check the county league website for the latest list of matches on or off.
