TONY SHEA and Gary Block are the new men at the helm of Pagham FC.

Block has returned to Nyetimber Lane as manager, having done the same job before spells with Selsey and Midhurst.

And after the club’s annual meeting, they have announced Shea as the new chairman following the recent resignation of Brent Williams.

Shea has been with the club for the past couple of years as youth and reserve manager and has latterly been acting chairman.

Voted in as vice-chairman was Clive Elderfield, while Marc Hilton will once more be club secretary.

Shea said: “The appointment of Gary Block as manager brings a wealth of experience to the club and an understanding of the Sussex League.

“The club are moving forward off the pitch, with a passionate and hard-working Committee all working as one, and it was felt a change was needed.

“I am sure our decision will be the right and a successful one. We are looking forward to this next chapter in the club’s proud history.”

World Cup matches will be shown at the clubhouse and a prize draw will take place for a signed Steven Gerrard England shirt which will come with a certificate of authentically. Tickets are now on sale.
