MIDHURST slipped to a 1-0 defeat at home to Little Common in division two of the Sussex League - and picked up a puzzling six bookings.

None of the supporters could work out why so many yellow cards had been issued.

At one stage the home players questioned whether the correct player had been cautioned - but the referee indicated that he was satisfied that his decision was correct.

The game was entertaining and Midhurst’s recent additions have boosted the side.

Midhurst are now three places off the bottom with five games left to play and are hoping they can collect enough points to avoid relegation.

The second XI visited Wick and Barnham but with a weakened side, they suffered a 7-1 defeat.

On Saturday, the rserves are at home to Sidlesham Reserves - this game follows the first XI’s game against Eastbourne United game which kicks off at 2pm.
