Goals in each half by Matt and Dan Evans were the difference in this crucial clash as Dorking took a giant step towards the title and seemingly thrust Bosham out of the Sussex League division-three race.

Although Bosham enjoyed periods of possession, they managed few efforts on goal.

The Blues edged in front just before the quarter-hour.

They were awarded a soft free-kick outside the area. Dan Evans fired goalwards and his effort ricocheted off a defender, wrongfooting Nathan Kohle, and nestled in the bottom corner.

Kieran Hartley shone bright down the flank for the Reds, but chances were still few and far between.

In the second half, Wanderers upped the tempo. The more Bosham pushed forward in search of an equaliser the more stretched they became at the back, and the inevitable happened late on when Matt Evans was on the end of another sweeping move to head in from close range.

Gary Rowland and Josh Rehill came on for a final push, but to no avail

BOSHAM: Kohle, Probee, Carrigher, Grantham, Blanshard, Miles, Hounsome, Hartley, Rehill, Phillips, Dowden. Subs: Rowland, Rehill, Evans.
