Winter won’t stop Chichester girls getting their football fix

Members of the Chichester Girls Youth Football Club did not disappoint their coaches at the weekend when they ventured out in the snow to attend their first training session of 2013.

The adverse weather conditions caused the need for some quick thinking from the coaches, who are all members of Chichester ladies first and reserve teams.

Communicating with all parents whose children are members of the mini green army - girls ranging from six to 14 years old - they moved from their regular venue on the front field of Chichester College to Chichester City FC’s ground at Oaklands Park.

The youth girls enjoyed their indoor training session where, among other activities, they played ‘blind football’, team-building games, sports and general knowledge quizzes.

The parents enjoyed judging the ‘design a new football kit’ competition and were very impressed at the girls’ art skills.

The mini green army are looking forward to the weather clearing soon so they can have fun and learn new football skills ready for their up-and-coming football tournament.

For more about the Chichester youth girls’ club, either go along to a session - the first one is free - email chichesterfemalefootball@hotmail.co.uk or call Hannah on 07727 068946.
