The floodlights at their Selsey Road Rec ground caught fire and burnt out a couple of years ago and they have been without lights since.

At the end of last season the club were relegated from SCFL division one because of this ground-grading issue.

Now the club are aiming to get the lights working again by March 31, 2017, so they can go back up to division one if results on the pitch are also good enough.

Having the floodlights working again would also allow them to provide opportunities to use the pitch and the grass area around the pitch in the evening for training for all senior and junior teams – saving money on pitch hire elsewhere – as well as being able to provide opportunities for other sports clubs to make use of the ground.

They need to raise the £11,000 to fix the current floodlights so they are in working order and have come up with a number of different sponsorship packages which local firms and individuals can get involved in.

These begin at £25 and rise to £1,500, with a range of diffeent benefits, but organisers are also asking for donations of £2 on their justgiving page (www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/sidleshamfc-floodlights). Donors’ names will be included on a plaque that will be placed at the club to when we have reached our target.
