Chi girls can really kick it

Chi City Girls Football Club under-eights

Chi City Girls Football Club under-eights

CHICHESTER City Girls’ Football Club has taken yet another step forward by entering their first competition on Saturday.

They entered teams in the under-eights, 10s and 12s categories at the first Junior Kickers Festival, hosted by Sussex FA.

The girls play each week at Chichester College on Saturday mornings under coaches Hannah McNamara, Jade Widdowson, Lizzy Ogden, Georgia Selby and Lauren Ellis, who also play for the successful Chichester City Ladies.

The club aims to enter teams into the Sussex Leagues next season off the back of playing in the Junior Kickers Festivals.

Head coach Hannah McNamara said: “All of our coaches have worked tirelessly to produce outstanding football throughout our youth set up and it was great to see the young girls apply the technical and tactical skills we have taught them at the Saturday club.”

To top the day off the main club sponsor PRN nursing provided medals for all of the young Lilywhites.

The club meets at Chichester College from 10am to 11.30am abd all girls aged from six to 12 are welcome.
