The Albion are believed to be lining up a loan move for Arsenal’s Spanish prospect Ignasi Miquel.
Gus Poyet is looking to strength his side in both full back positions and left-sided Miquel would fit the bill – particularly with the Seagulls missing out on Joe Mattock earlier in the summer.
Despite spending a large part of his career as a centre half, the 19-year-old became adept at lining up at left back after a string of injuries to Arsenal players in that position.
And his footballing education, which started at Barcelona and continues at The Emirates, would see him fit into the passing style of play Poyet and his charges are becoming so well known for.
He has played for Arsenal’s first team – making his Premier League debut against Liverpool in August last year – but with Kieran Gibbs establishing himself as Arsene Wenger’s number one choice, Miquel is believed to be open to an experience-gaining stint in the Championship.
