After dreadful floods, Bognor were simply grateful to be playing as Wisborough Green visited in division three west of the Sussex League.
Bognor skipper Elliott Clarke had no hesitation bowling to make the most of the moisture in the wicket.
Sam Taylor (2-15) and Jim Lee (2-22) strangled Wisborough’s attempts to get going, with the visitors breduced to 24 for five.
Taylor used subtle changes of pace to great effect, picking up the dangerous Alexander Edwards for a duck.
Josh Broad (2-18) dismissed top scorer Matt Travena (20). James Self (19*) and Martin Hopkins (7) took the score to 81 before Hopkins was trapped lbw by Broad. Spinners Oli Handson (2-14) and Rob Willway (1-7), who earlier bowled three overs of medium pace, wrapped up the Wisborough innings for just 89.
Bognor had an hour of their innings before tea and openers Clarke and Willway (16) put on 43 before Willway was adjudged lbw to Byron Napper (2-39).
Luke Seward and Clarke took the score to 55 for one.
Seward perished lbw for nine off Johnny Farmer (1-20) and it was 66 for two.
Clarke was particularly brutal through the offside before he skied a catch to mid-off for an excellent 45.
Handson (15*) and Taylor (3*) knocked off the remaining runs to secure victory and 30 points and keep Bognor second.
* Bognor II were in trouble at 60 for six but Charlie La Foret (29) and veteran Iain Ashmore (51) saw them to a competitive 166 against Wisborough’s seconds.
Steady Bognor bowling from Andy McGregor (2-29) saw runs hard to come by for Wisborough before Joe Ashmore, the young left-armer, took four for 13.
Support from Mikey Harris (2-18) saw Wisborough Green bowled out for 111.
