Middleton CC colt Ben Taylor has received a performance award at the club.
He was presented with it by first-team captain Brandon Hanley and head coach Brian Towner.
Travel Places, the club’s main sponsor, have donated awards for the colts’ top performers each month throughout the season.
This will focus not just on performances, batting, bowling and fielding but effort and spirit of cricket.
Taylor, an under-12 player, attends Felpham Community School and plays for Western Warriors. He took the award for his bowling against Littlehampton under-13s. He took a hat-trick, all clean bowled.
A final performance-of-the-season award will be made in September.
Middleton under-11s scored 101 for five playing at home to a good Bognor side but were well beaten as the visitors racked up 102 for one.
At the Rotary Ground, Middleton under-tens totalled 173 for five to beat Worthing Chippingdale, who managed 137 for six.
Charlie Maginnis scored 37 and took two wickets for 22. There were 19 runs and two for 14 for Dill Howell; Owen Spicer scored 17 runs, Harry Leaver 15, while Ben Mackley took one for 18.
Sam Green, Ben Mackley, Monty Hawkins and Jak Allen helped the team on to the record books when for the first time ever, each member scored a boundary.
