EXPECTATIONS at King's Manor Community College were high before GCSE results were published last week – and students didn't disappoint.
This year, 58 per cent of year-11 pupils at the Shoreham school achieved five or more GCSEs at grades A* to C.
The top performer was Emily Hilditch, who attained a total of 13 GCSEs – nine of which were graded A* or A.
She was closely matched by Terry Merritt, who also achieved nine A* and A grades from his 11 subjects.

YEAR-11 students at Steyning Grammar School racked up yet another set of impressive GCSE results – and even improved on last year's achievements.
Seventy-one per cent of pupils attained five or more subjects at grade A* to C, with 64 per cent achieving five A* to C grades in subjects including maths and English.
Almost a quarter of all grades achieved by teenagers at the school were graded either A* or A.
Head teacher Dr John Peat said the results confirmed Steyning Grammar's position as one of the leading comprehensive schools in the county.

ALMOST every pupil at The Towers Convent School achieved five or more GCSEs graded A* to C, with 10 girls scoring 10 or more A* and A grades.
Sixteen-year-old Grace Miller, of Steyning, was a straight-A students, with a haul of five A* grades and five As.
