LETTER: What’s the point?

WHY, I wonder, did the council get outside contractors in to paint huge white 20s all over our pleasant roads (which must have cost a princely sum, I would imagine), but then fail to install cameras, speed guns, or any other means of monitoring the speed of motorists?

Here, in The Drive, we haven’t noticed a single vehicle observing this speed limit – indeed at times one might think one was living alongside the Monte Carlo racetrack.

I would even go so far as to claim that, if cameras had been installed, enough money would by now have been collected in fines to resurface College Lane!
