LETTER: Great ticket sales

ON behalf of the Graffham Rustics, I would like to thank everyone from the Midhurst and Petworth area who came out to the Empire Hall, Graffham, last week to support our production of The Ladykillers.

Ticket sales were our highest for a number of years, with an average of 70 per cent seats sold over the three nights – on the Saturday we were pretty near full capacity.

We would also like to thank all the local businesses who supported us by displaying posters and in particular Bay Tree Bakery, in Petworth, and The Village Stores, in Graffham, which both sold tickets for us.

Excellent pre-show coverage in the Midhurst and Petworth Observer I am sure also helped significantly.

Our website traffic doubled on Thursday, Friday and Saturday of the week of the article published on May 8, leading to a significant number of on-line ticket bookings.

In many areas of the country, drama societies are struggling, but with such good local support, the Rustics are pleased to announce we have comfortably covered all the costs of this production and leave a small balance to start the next one.

We are currently planning our next venture which we will announce shortly.

Anyone interested in joining us can email info@graffhamrustics.co.uk.
