Flood defence funding is a welcome addition

As the prospective Conservative county councillor candidate for Bersted division I welcome the announcement by Pieter Montyn, cabinet member on West Sussex County Council, that they will use £4m to deal with flood hot spots and, as part of this, that work has started to combat future flooding in Shripney.

I am attending with Nick Gibb MP a multi-agency flood meeting on Friday, March 22, to try and tackle the issues and I will advance the interests of residents of Shripney and North Bersted as candidate and possible future county councillor.

I believe if we are to solve these problems we have to have a joint effort, but I am glad the county council are taking such a proactive stance.
