ARTISTS will be putting their work on show in Aldwick for their latest exhibition.

The 15 members of St Richard’s Art Group will be displaying some 70 paintings at the event.

It will take place from 11am-4.30pm on August 10 at Mosse Hall, in St Richard’s Way behind St Richard’s Church.

Admission is free. All proceeds will go to the Chestnut Tree House children’s hospice.

Among those whose paintings will be included is Norman Flint, 80, of Boxgrove Gardens.

Many of his acrylic works feature detailed depictions of birds.

A member for 15 years, he said: “I like painting the plumage. I can get really detailed with it.

“Painting is completely different from my main hobby of gardening.

“I have sold some paintings. It’s satisfying somebody has bought them and will, hopefully, enjoy them.”

Group secretary Jane Norman said its exhibitions took place about every two years, usually raising £200-300 for the chosen cause.

“It’s nice to have the feedback about your work,” she said. “It adds to the pleasure of painting.”

Paintings on view will feature a range of subjects, in media from watercolours to oils.
