A woman was assaulted on her way home in early hours of Saturday morning (March 26), police have said.

The 33-year-old, from Bognor, was assaulted as she was walking along Aldwick Road, between the junctions of Nyewood Lane and Richmond Avenue West, in Bognor, between 3.30am and 3.55am.

Officers said a man was seen running away from the woman into Richmond Avenue West.

He is described as white, of slim build, around 5’6”, with brown hair, wearing a navy coloured hoody and jeans or tracksuit suit bottoms and black trainers. He was carrying a small light green bag over his shoulder.

Police said the woman noticed her phone was missing after the assault.

She suffered an injury to her hip but did not require treatment.

Detective Constable Jo French said “We are asking anyone who saw this suspect, or the victim who is blonde and was wearing a black coat and blue jeans, to contact us.

“Her mobile phone is a blue iPhone5 in a black case with a skull in silver on the rear and with black gem border. Please also let us know if you have seen it or know where it is.”
