Arun District Council has stated it is fully committed to ensuring West Park Cafe ‘meets the needs of all people who enjoy the park all year round’.

It’s comments come as the cafe returns to the council’s books after the existing lease expired on March 31.

Many local residents have been asking for an update on the premises due to it still remaining closed despite the weather warming up.

A spokesman for the council said: “The premises have only just come back to Arun District Council.

“The council included the running of a café in West Park, Bognor Regis, within the recent procurement for its Greenspace contract.

“We are in discussions with our partner contractor, ISS Facility Services Landscaping, about café provision at West Park and are fully committed to ensuring that this facility meets the needs of all people who enjoy the park all year round.

“Once we have plans in place for this under-utilised asset, we will issue a press release and let the public know all the details.”
