VOTE for Bognor Regis is the call from the town centre manager this week.
Toyubur Rahman urged residents to lift Bognor from third place in the coastal communities category of the Great British High Street competition.
Voting is open until November 13 and a person can vote every day until then.
“We had a really positive visit from the judges that came over to have a look at Bognor,” said Mr Rahman. “Local people should be very proud about what has been achieved over the past few years.
“To be recognised as one of the top three high streets in the coastal communities category and one of the best improving towns in the country is fantastic news.
“But, to help us to get over the line and be ranked Britain’s best, we need local people to get online and get voting.”
The public vote makes up 50 per cent of the final, equal to the judges’ opinion, the votes of residents and traders are crucial.
Winners in each of the seven categories get a share of £80,000. That includes expert training for 100 of their shops, bars and restaurants.
The Great British High Street competition is run by the Department for Communities and Local Government, sponsored by national businesses, and attracted 230 entries.
More than 100,000 votes have been cast for free so far at thegreatbritishhighstreet.co.uk or via Facebook.
