VOLUNTARY Action Arun and Chichester (VAAC) is launching a consultation on changes to its services.
Earlier this year, the group asked for help in ‘shaping the future’ of volunteering in both districts.
Feedback showed residents and organisations wanted a simpler process to access local volunteering services, a continued presence in both districts and closer working with other local organisations, including wider marketing and promotion.
In response VAAC is planning to implement a new structure from January and now wants to hear back from residents, community groups, organisations, service providers and other stakeholders on the proposals.
Chief executive Hilary Spencer said: “With volunteering gaining a higher profile nationally we felt that it was important that local access to, and information about, volunteering was also increased and improved.
“However, this is balanced by the need to come within the resources available to support the project.
“Having talked to our service users and following on from the changes we made to our development service last year, we are confident our proposals will offer the best result for both organisations and those who want to become involved in volunteering.”
