Video: Troops exercise freedom of Chichester city

Hundreds of people have lined the streets as the Second Battalion of the Princess of Wales’ Royal Regiment (PWRR) exercised their freedom of the city.

The soldiers, who are based at Woolwich Barracks, were welcomed by mayor Alan Chaplin and lord lieutenant of West Sussex, Susan Pyper.

“It gives me great pleasure to welcome the royal regiment on occasion of exercising the freedom of the city of Chichester,” Mr Chaplin told the crowds.

The troops stopped outside The Council House on North Street, before parading down Chichester’s East Street.
