DOZENS of men have donned their high heels and strutted out in style through Chichester city centre to raise money for St Wilfrid’s Hospice.

Despite the drizzly weather, the dashing gents tottered their way around the one mile route in high spirits, finishing at Chichester Rugby Football Club in Oaklands Park.

While some had opted for long dresses, summer hats and delicate sandals, others had selected rather raunchier outfits, complete with fishnet tights and the obligatory heels.

Sussex Police Neighbourhood Policing were also out in force, but with a difference - PSCO Sibun, PSCO Moorey and PCSO Lemm all looked delightful in dressed as nurses.

They told the Observer they were ‘in a lot of pain’ but were ‘enjoying’ the day.

Andrew Waters who works at Chichester-based company, Covers, looked dashing in a new red pair of patent heels which he bought specially for the occasion.

“Do you like my brand-new red patent size 12 shoes? They come from a company in Surrey called Pretty Big Feet. I’m having a very good time and my shoes are quite comfortable.”

Cunningly, Andrew also matched his shoes with his red hair accessory, red handbag and red scarf to complete the outfit, which he seemed rather pleased about.

All the money raised from the day will go towards helping St Wilfrid’s continue its specialist palliative care services across its catchment area, running from Emsworth to Arundel.
