EMERGENCY services were called to Goodwood this morning after a car crashed and flipped just outside of Goodwood Racecourse.

A female driver was taken to hospital with minor injuries.

The silver vehicle crashed shortly before 9.30am and two police cars, paramedics and a fire crew from Chichester were called to the scene.

A spokesman for West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service said only one car was involved in the incident and a female driver was released from her car before firefighters were on the scene.

Fire crews handed the incident over to police, and had made the scene safe by 10am.

Witness Mike Rixon, 25, of Climping, said: “It looked really bad.

“The car rolled and was halfway in a bush.”

A spokesman for Sussex Police said: “We were called at 9.10am on Monday (June 29) after a car overturned in Kennel Hill, Goodwood.

“The woman who was driving was taken to St Richard’s Hospital for treatment for minor injuries.”
