UPDATE: Police confirm 46-year-old Bognor man was ‘struck’ by bus

Sussex Police said that a 46-year-old man from Bognor Regis was struck by the near side of a Stagecoach single-decker bus yesterday (Saturday. August 8).

Police were called out to The Esplanade, Bognor Regis at 2.44pm, outside Jack Rabbit Slims, a music bar

The spokesman said: “Emergency services including an air ambulance attended the scene. He was flown to Southhampton Hospital.

“The man was initially thought to have serious head injuries, however after an update the injuries were not as severe as first feared.

“The passengers and driver on the bus were uninjured.

“Anyone with information regarding the incident should call police on 101, quoting operation picture.”
