THE A29 has now reopened following an earlier car fire.

The road was closed in both directions after a single car was alight in Slindon.

The fire service was called to the blaze at 5.32pm, according to a spokesperson.

It is thought to have been close to the roundabout which joins the A27 and delays were reported.

The fire caused 80 per cent damage to the car and there were no reports of anyone injured, West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service said.
