Trust marks anniversary with auction

A SPECIAL auction will mark the 35th anniversary of the Aldingbourne Trust.

The range of lots to get the gavel going include a cricket bat signed by the England team of 2009/10, books signed by Downton Abbey stars, overnight stays in idyllic hotels, a limo ride and a trip on a Thames Clipper.

The auction takes place at 6.45pm tomorrow at Boxgrove Village Hall. Entry is free and the doors open at 5.30pm.

Michelle McKinley Bell, of the trust, said: “We have already had a fantastic response from local businesses and supporters and I would like to say a big thank you to everyone who has kindly donated something.

“We anticipate an entertaining and successful evening of bidding.

“We look forward to seeing everyone armed with their cash, cheques and credit cards for a great fundraising event.”

Proceeds from the auction will be put to the trust’s £4m appeal to develop the facilities at its flagship site of the Aldingbourne Country Centre near Fontwell.
