FLORAL tributes mark the spot where a Bognor Regis pedestrian was in a collision with a bus which caused his death.

The flowers were placed on a tree on Canada Grove by the friends and relatives of Peter Chatwin.

One to Peter/Daddy says ‘Love you and miss you always, Love from, Lolly and Faye’.

Mr Chatwin, 35, of Albert Road, received serious head injuries after the incident with the single decker in the road just before 4.30pm last Thursday (November 21).

He was taken by air ambulance to Southampton General Hospital but he died there later that evening.

An 83-year-old Chichester woman, a passenger on the bus on the Coastliner 700 route, was treated for minor injuries at St Richard’s Hospital in Chichester and later went home.

Andrew Dyer, the managing director of Stagecoach South, said: “When an accident like this occurs, our first thoughts are with the family of the deceased.

“It appears to have been a tragic accident. But we need to wait for the result of the police investigation to confirm that. We will co-operate with them until the investigation is finished.

“The bus is fitted with CCTV and the police have been given that footage.”
