The rail line between Uckfield to Hurst Green has now reopened after earlier signalling problems, though there are still delays.

Southern has said the line is now open again and that Uckfield line tickets are valid on Southern train services between Lewes/Haywards Heath and London until further notice.

There were no reports of any morning accidents on the roads, though at 11am on Saturday, August 1, there were reports of heavy traffic around the A27 Chichester bypass at the Stockbridge Roundabout in both directions; congestion but traffic still moving in Worthing on the A27 at the Lyons Farm traffic lights; and congestion in Hastings around the A2101 Harold Place junction.
