Police hunt attempted robbers in Yapton

DETECTIVES are searching for a trio of men in connection with an attempted robbery in Yapton, last month.

The crime took place near Gleblans Farm, in Yapton Road, at around midnight on Monday, August 27.

A man was walking near the farm when he was approached by three men who assaulted him and then rifled through his pockets.

Officers have now launched an investigation to track down the trio and are urging anyone who may have witnessed the incident, or has any knowledge about the crime, to contact them.

A police spokesman said: “The man fortunately wasn’t injured and didn’t have anything stolen from him.

“This is an isolated incident and we are keen to trace these men. Anyone who saw them or has any information to contact police on 101 quoting 1020 of 28 August, or the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
