Getting in gear for the forthcoming Santa Sprint & Stroll in aid of St Wilfrid's Hospice. C121520-2

IT may be too early for advent calendars but visitors to Chichester on Friday might have felt themselves getting in the festive spirit.

A team of St Wilfrid’s Hospice Santas were at Chichester bus station to spread the word about the Santa Sprint & Stroll, set to be held on Sunday, December 9.

Organisers are hoping hundreds of Santas will take part in this sponsored event, raising much-needed funds for the hospice so it can continue providing specialist palliative care services to people across the community.

For Santas who want a challenge, there is the 5k off-road sprint while the stroll is a one-mile fun run suitable for all the family.

Each Santa will receive a free outfit while mini-Santas will receive goodie bags. Radio presenter Steve Power will compere the event and there will be lots of entertainment and activities to enjoy, plus festive refreshments and a visit by the real Father Christmas.

Registration costs £15 per adult for either category or £20 to take part in both and £5 per child aged five to 15.

Anyone who would like more information can call 01243 755827 or download a registration form at www.stwh.co.uk.
