RESIDENTS in Bersted and Yapton are set to go to the polls today.
Referendums on both areas’ neighbourhood plans will see the two communities chose to vote ‘yes’ or ‘no’ to the policies set out in the documents designed to give local people a say their futures.
Both plans have been years in the making, with volunteers spending hours pulling them together.
They have been looked at by an independent examiner and if accepted by residents, will go forward to be adopted by Arun District Council.
If accepted, they become a legal document that can be used to help determine planning applications.
Residents will be able to vote when polling stations open from 7am-10pm.
For Bersted, stations will be at the Bersted Jubilee Hall, Chalcraft Lane, Holy Cross Church, Bersted Green Learning Centre, Riverside Caravan Park and Robin Hood public house.
In Yapton, residents can cast their vote in the Yapton and Ford Village Hall.
