Super slimmers have reason to celebrate

Diamond leaders Sarah Bell and Becky Jones

A DOUBLE diamond celebration has marked the success of two Bognor Regis area super slimmers.

Becky Jones and Sarah Bell who have helped hundreds of local residents towards a healthier weight and lifestyle – have been recognised for their outstanding service to slimmers in the area.

It is the second time Becky has been awarded the status, and is Sarah’s first and they are both thrilled.

Becky said: “It feels amazing to be recognised as a diamond leader. It shows that we are in the top 30 per cent across the whole country.

“It is even more special to think that I have been awarded it twice. To be able to maintain that level of service and support for my members makes me really proud.

“It is also such a positive thing for our members. They see us being recognised and it helps them too.

“I walked into my first Weight Watchers as a member in 2005 and it has honestly changed my life.”

The pair were awarded the Weight Watchers Diamond Leader status at the regional Weight Watchers conference at The Celtic Manor Resort in Wales, on September 30.

The award, which celebrates leaders who have provided exceptional support to their members during their weight loss journey, is only given out once every two years to a select group across the country.

Just this year, Becky and Sarah have helped their members shed about 880 stone so far.

North Bersted meeting member Kelly Willimott said the accolade was very well-deserved.

“Becky is wonderful. She is an inspiration to so many of us and gives us great tips, tricks and support to help us achieve our weight loss goals. I have lost 39 and a half pounds and I’ve never felt better,” said Kelly.

Westergate member Chrissie Oliver says Sarah’s meetings are fun and informative. “Before I joined I was unhappy and unhealthy, I never want to go back that. Sarah is such an inspiration and really keeps me motivated,” she said.

Becky and Sarah were presented with their accolades by Weight Watchers UK operations director Samantha Rhodes.

She said: “Becky has been with Weight Watchers for seven years – firstly as a member who successfully lost six and a half stone and then as a leader, running five meetings a week in Bognor Regis and Selsey. Sarah has been with Weight Watchers for six years – firstly as a member who successfully lost five stone and then as a leader, running two meetings a week in Westergate and Havant.

“We are delighted to have them as part of the team.”
