THE BEACH at Bognor Regis is being broadcast across the planet.
A webcam positioned on top of the pier is live streaming the ‘fantastic view’ of East Beach – and has already received 26,000 views.
“I love the beach and I’ve lived in Bognor most of my life,” said Colin Clark, the man behind the webcam who first looked into installing one five years ago.
He said reaction to the live stream was ‘very positive’ and he was grateful for support he received from Bognor Town Council.
“I believe it’s a fantastic location. From my point of view I think Bognor Regis has a lot more going for it than people realise.”
He said now people in London would be able to see what the weather was like in Bognor and hopefully draw tourists to the town.
“We’re absolutely delighted to support Colin,” said Jim Brooks, chairman of Bognor Regis Town Council’s events, promotion and publicity committee.
He said the town council previously looked into the possibility of a webcam, but were very happy to partner Colin in broadcasting Bognor beach to all the UK. “I think we can still claim to be the sunniest resort in the UK.”
