A FELPHAM mother of five has won a first prize in a new female fitness contest.
Jacqueline Hooton won the award as Miss Congeniality in the Miss Galaxy Universe competition ahead of some 50 other women.
This prize was for the person who the other competitors most respected for being congenial, charismatic and inspiring.
She said: “I felt really honoured and touched to receive this award as there were many other participants who fitted this description perfectly.”
Jacqueline, 49, was also handed a special award for most accomplished contestant in the event held at the NEC in Birmingham and third place in the fitness model category.
Jacqueline’s daughter, Poppy, 19, also took home a trophy from the Miss Galaxy Universe event for being the biggest achiever.
This recognised her determination and focus in preparing for the event. “I’m really thrilled with my award,” she said. “I have been balancing studying for A-level exams alongside training for the comp-etition so this special award was a real bonus.”
