STOKESY the stray dog has found a new home after more than two months at a West Meads veterinary centre.
The brindle lurcher cross was in the care of AlphaPet Veterinary Centre after he was bought in following a suspected road traffic accident.
Appeals by staff, including in the Observer, failed to find him a new owner.
But vet nurse Andrea Hogg said a chance meeting was all that was needed.
A friend of a staff member at the clinic in The Precinct visited Stokesy.
“They both hit it off straight away and Stokesy now loves his new home,” Andrea said.
“When Stokesy was brought in to us, he was in a pretty bad condition.
“All our staff loved his friendly nature after spending time cleaning him up and caring for him.
“We’re delighted Stokesy has finally found a wonderful forever home where we know he’ll be well looked after.”
