THE Met Office has issued a severe weather warning for the south until 9pm today (Friday, June 8).
It said west or southwesterly gales are likely to affect the south throughout the day.
Information on the Met Office website said: “The public should be aware some damage to trees is likely and that disruption to travel and outdoor activities could also occur.
“The gales are also likely to be accompanied by some heavy rain. Winds should gradually ease from the southwest after about midday.”
