SHE’S KNOWN to millions for delivering her lines as Sam Mitchell in EastEnders – and now Danniella Westbrook could be reading out your words.
Meanwhile X Factor finalist Christopher Maloney is going to join Danniella in recording the best entries in our popular Christmas ghost story competition.
The pair are starring in the Christmas pantomime Sleeping Beauty at the Kings Theatre in Southsea from December 9 to January 5. Danniella is playing Fairy Sparkle, while Christopher is the prince. Danniella said: ‘It’s a wonderful opportunity to be in panto and I can’t wait to read your wonderful ghost stories.’
Christopher added: ‘I’m so looking forward to being part of all the excitement and reading the ghost stories.’
We want you to come up with stories that have a festive flavour.
They can be set in times gone by or the modern world. The characters, content and how the storyline develops are entirely up to you.
There are two age categories – one for authors aged 15 and under and one for those aged 16 and over.
We’ll be publishing the entries of the winners and runners-up in each category in The News in the run-up to Christmas.
There are also great prizes to be won – as well as the thrill of seeing their stories in print and hearing them recorded by the panto stars for The News website at portsmouth.co.uk, the two winners will each get a £100 gift card to spend at Waterstones. We’ve also got a runner-up prize in each category of a £75 gift card.
Stories must be no more than 1,000 words.
E-mail them to firstname.lastname@example.org or post to: Christmas Ghost Story Competition, Features Department, The News, 1000 Lakeside, North Harbour, Portsmouth PO6 3EN.
Please include full name, address, age and daytime phone number. Closing date is Sunday, December 15, 2013.
