Police and prison service officers are hunting for 36-year-old Michael O’Rourke who absconded from Ford Open Prison on Wednesday, May 6.
O’Rourke, who is serving a sentence for burglary and theft, was identified as missing from Ford at 4.30pm.
He is known to have got a taxi around 9pm from Horsham railway station, where this photo was taken.
A Sussex Police spokesman said: “A number of reports of sightings have been received from Sutton, his home area and where his offending occurred.”
O’Rouke is white, of medium build, around 5ft 8in, with a shaved/bald head. When last seen, he was wearing grey jogging bottoms, white jumper and black trainers with a white trim. He is believed to be carrying a large green raincoat.

The spokesman warned anyone who saw O’Rourke should dial 999 immediately and not approach him.
