Scouts set to open their new building

SCOUTS in Bognor Regis are getting ready to officially celebrate the opening of their new base.

The Bognor Regis District Scout Council will be heading the ceremony at their new headquarters building on May 11.

The premises are located in Central Drive, North Bersted. They consist of two portable buildings which were installed last November.

They are sited on the spot of the town’s original Scout hut which was almost 100 years old.

The buildings started out as car showroom offices for Renault in Peterborough.

They have been fitted out for their new purpose in a project partly funded by the Scouts through numerous events and backed by £5,000 from West Sussex Scouts and a £10,000 loan from the county Scout Association.
