Young planners help put Bognor Regis on the map

PUPILS from a Bognor Regis school have been challenged to put the town on the map.

Year three children from Southway Primary School are set to become tourism experts as part of their spring term learning.

The 72 students aged between seven and eight, have been asked by MP for Bognor Regis and Littlehampton and schools minister, Nick Gibb, to produce a display to help visiting holidaymakers.

Teacher Lucy Collins said: “The challenge is for them to produce a display highlighting what visitors can see for the newspaper office. It is a really exciting topic for the children and really encourages them to get involved.”

Mr Gibb attended a special assembly at the school where he told children all about his work as an MP, took some questions, and set the students their mission.

Bognor Regis Observer reporter Katie Anderson also attended the assembly to tell children the display would go on show in the newspaper’s office from March 19 for two weeks.
