Marriage of sport and science is a happy one for a Bognor school
Science sports leaders from The Regis School and children from Southway Primary School
NEWLY-created sports science leaders from a Bognor Regis school combined the subjects for a fun festival.
The 12- and 13-year-old highly-motivated girls at The Regis School were chosen as the first of the leaders.
Their role was to create a festival for younger children at nearby Southway Primary School.
The fun activities they devised included creating a balanced diet meal, obstacle courses with body-part relays and muscle movement with parachute games.
The result was a session which delighted the Year 4 children from the primary school.
Teacher Sam Colbourne said: “The children talk about how much they enjoyed it and are full of information they learnt.”
Sports leadership is strongly embedded at The Regis School. Sean O’Connor, from its PE department, and Jennie Dean, from science, have put the two subjects together.
