Deadline is extended

MORE time is being allowed for Bognor Regis residents to put forward deserving young people.

The deadline for nominations for this year’s Arun youth community awards has been extended to February 3.

Alex Harman, the chairman of Arun Youth Council, wants people to take advantage of the extra week to ensure every young person who has done something special is recognised.

Alex, 18, from Littlehampton, said: “We want as many people as possible to come forward and nominate those they think deserve recognition, no matter how small or insignificant their contribution may seem.

“These awards are not just about recognising acts of extreme heroism.

“They are also about rewarding our young people of Arun who have demonstrated a dedication to their community, friends or family that largely goes unsung.”

The annual awards are held by Inspire Leisure with the Arun Youth Council to celebrate the actions of the Arun district’s young people in the categories of bravery, voluntary work and charity work.

The nominations are judged by the youth council ready for the winners to be announched at the awards ceremony at The Windmill in Littlehampton on March 28.
