PLACES are filling up fast for this year’s Bognor Prom 10K road race.
The town’s biggest annual sporting event attracted nearly 1,900 entries last year.
Next month’s staging is set to be equally popular. The organisers at Bognor Hotham Rotary Club have warned anyone interested in taking part on May 18 that entries close on May 7 at the latest.
Robbie Burns, chairman of the 10K committee, said: “Entries are now coming in thick and fast. So, if you are intending to take part and raise money for your favourite charity, or just for the fun of the event, don’t leave it too late.”
The Bognor Regis Concert Band has again agreed to perform at the seafront bandstand for the runners.
Jazz group Jazz at the Village will be playing by the water station on Limmer Lane, Felpham, before the runners enter the prom for the run home to West Park.
A skiffle group will also be performing at West Park to add to the atmosphere.
The day promises to be another good event for the whole community to support.
Entries can be made online at www.bognorprom10k.org or on forms from local libraries, the Bognor Regis Observer office, gyms and JW Sports on the High Street.
Those without a charity to support can run for the race’s charity partner, Chestnut Tree House Children’s Hospice.
The race starts at 10.30am at Hotham Park and follows its usual route to Felpham.
