JUDGES at Walberton Horticultural Society’s annual rose show commended the entrants on their high standards.

The attractive entries were achieved in spite of the bad growing weather.

Some categories like soft fruit had few exhibits but floral art was well supported and the rose classes were strongly represented.

The winners of the show held in the village hall last Saturday were – The George Drummond Trophy for the best rose exhibit: Irene Howell; The Floral Art Salver: Janet Heasman; The Ines Brown Memorial Trophy for the highest number of points for roses: Ann Cannings; The Fred Ireland Cup for the best sweet peas: Jeffrey Haine; Millennium Cup winner for the best mixed cut flowers: Brenda
Bailey.
