NOT even the rain could put a dampener on fun in an Aldwick park.

The Friends of West Park held their second family day in West Park last Saturday (August 17).

Scores of adults and children enjoyed the free entertainment.

Jan Malpas, the chairman of the Friends of West Park said: “The weather was against us and by 2pm there was heavy rain, so for our family day in August 2014, we must get a marque.”

There were queues of children waiting for the chance to have a go in a fire engine and speak to firefighters.

The Punch and Judy show also attracted a crowd who all happily joined in with the jolly fun. The friends were also on hand to make kites with the children.

Stalls which braved with weather included L’arche and St Wilfrid’s Church who had a free prize draw.

The Bognor Pier Trust were also there promoting their Caribbean Party on the pier on September 1.

Yeeha Line Dancing and Clare and her team from fitness and zumba gave some energetic displays. The day, which was sponsored by the Hotham Rotary Club, was rounded off the RAFA Skiffle Band.
