THE handover at Arun District Council has begun with the new chief executive taking up his post.

The official handover period has started at Arun District Council between retiring chief officer Ian Sumnall and his replacement Nigel Lynn.

Formerly deputy chief executive of Spelthorne Borough Council in Surrey, Mr Lynn officially started at Arun on Monday ahead of Mr Sumnall’s formal retirement from the authority after 20 years on November 4.

Mr Lynn said: “I intend to carry on the good work Ian has been doing over the years in Arun.

“My aim for the future is to ensure the district remains a great place to work, visit, and live.”

His appointment to the top job at Arun was unanimously approved by councillors in June.
