CONCERNS about an alarm company claiming to be connected to the police have been raised across the Bognor Regis area.

A company registered to the Birmingham area has been contacting residents with an aim to sell security alarms.

Police officers said there was some concern as a few residents said part of the company’s sales technique was to say it was affiliated to the police. This is not the case.

The company has now been found and spoken to and it is now reviewing and listening to recorded calls made to residents.

Those who mention the company has been affiliated to the police will be ‘severely reprimanded’.

Whilst in this case it is a legitimate company, residents have been reminded not to agree to work or items being sold to them until they have checked the company out.

Anyone with concerns about people knocking at their door or cold-calling them can call Sussex Police on 101.
