Police investigate after town bench was hit by lorry

Police have confirmed ‘enquiries are continuing’ after a lorry ‘collided with a concrete bench’ in London Road, Bognor.

In a statement it said the incident was reported to police ‘at around 7.45pm on Tuesday, 16 August’ and that there were no injuries.

It made an appeal for witnesses to contact 101@sussex.pnn.police.uk or call 101 quoting reference 1454 of 16/08.

Nigel Lynn, chief executive of Arun District Council, confirmed the council were aware of the damage but declined to comment further while the investigation continues.
