Police are appealing for witnesses following a car fire in Barton Road, Bognor which is believed to have been started deliberately.
Emergency services were called to the scene at around 1am on Wednesday (June 22) after a Land Rover Discovery was set alight and destroyed. Police say the flames caused some damage to the front of a house near the roadside.
All of the occupants escaped without serious injury although a 35-year-old woman, a 17-year-old girl, and a five-month-old baby were taken to hospital for smoke inhalation.
Detective Constable Graham Slack said: “A man wearing a light hooded top and trousers was seen carrying a bucket immediately before the fire.
“We would like to speak with him or anyone who saw something suspicious in the area.”
