OKAY, so I am Milly, a 32-year-old single ‘girl’ who is incredibly lucky.
I have a job I absolutely adore and have worked hard at for the past ten years, I work with people I genuinely regard as my friends, and I have the most amazing friends who are more like family.
Add to that the fact I am truly blessed to live in a beautiful part of the world and I think it is fair to say my life is pretty much set.
Please don’t get me wrong, I am not bragging (well, okay maybe a little bit) but I just wanted to get everything in perspective.
You see, I am giving it all up and moving to Northern Ireland for a new job.
Wow, reading that back in black and white is scary stuff.
It is a dream job for me, I get to continue doing what I love (chatting), while travelling the globe and meeting the most brave and courageous of people.
However, after so long at Spirit FM and being in West Sussex, and I’ll be honest because I like to consider myself as quite audacious (well, not exactly, but I wasn’t sure if I’d be allowed to use the word ‘ballsy’) I’m absolutely terrified.
There is change and then this is turning a perfectly good life upside down for a new challenge.
As scared as I get, and the sleepless nights have started already, I come back to one quote a friend shared with me a little while ago...
‘If your dreams don’t scare you, they are not big enough’.
A little cliché to some maybe, but what is life if you don’t experience as much of it as you possibly can?
I could genuinely end up regretting this life-changing decision, but I am fairly sure that I would spend more hours regretting not taking an amazing opportunity that has been presented to me.
I’m jumping feet first, my leap of faith...
